SNS election campaign should be allowed.
What I hope to learn from this source:
I want to get information about the impact of sns and internet in Korea.
Notes:
1. Campaigns using social media are allowed in South Korea, following the Constitutional Court’s ruling last year that said limiting election campaigns infringes upon voters’ freedom of political expression.
2. Both the Park and Moon camps set up SNS organizations on Seoul’s Yeouido Island, where the National Assembly Building and party headquarters are concentrated. Park’s party grabbed the attention of voters after it posted rare pictures of Park’s private life, including the candidate making coffee in her kitchen and playing with her dog, on Kakao Talk, a popular free cross-platform mobile messaging application for smartphones. “SNS is the most appropriate media to show a candidate’s human aspects and can nurture a sense of affinity," said Kim Chul-kyun, head of the Park camp SNS headquarters.
3. Moon has been aggressively posting messages on Twitter and Facebook
4. The ruling made it officially possible to use SNS in the presidential and general elections to be held in South Korea in 2012. Users are allowed to support or criticize certain candidates on the Internet if their posts are based on facts and are not defaming.
Final Thoughts:
I could get information about the election strategy of Park and Moon and permission of freedom of political expression in Korea.
